Tottenham transfer news
In this article, we’ll cover all of today’s Tottenham transfer news.
Tottenham to bid for Kounde
The first update suggests that Tottenham are set to make a rather large bid for a central defender.
Spurs’ backline is quite clearly now one of the weakest areas of their squad with Toby Alderweireld past his best, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier error-prone and Joe Rodon still pretty inexperienced.
Now though, the Lilywhites look to be aiming to add some much-needed quality to their backline.
La Colina De Nervion are reporting that the Lilywhites are set to bid £50m for Sevilla central defender, Jules Kounde.
A number of Premier League sides have previously been linked with Kounde, including Arsenal and Chelsea.
Sevilla won’t sell Jules Kounde for less than 60m this summer despite the player wanting to move to a bigger club. The truth is at the moment Arsenal and Chelsea are the most interested and Arsenal want him to be the ‘leader of the defense’ https://t.co/p2aOKI1SHA

Nuno wants Switzerland forward
At the other end of the pitch, Nuno Espirito Santo appears to be eyeing a fresh centre-forward.
The Mirror are reporting that the new Spurs boss wants to snap up Switzerland and Benfica forward, Haris Seferovic.
Seferovic joined Benfica on a free transfer back in 2017 and has since scored 69 and assisted 23 in 173 outings for the Portuguese powerhouse.
Seferovic is seemingly viewed as a replacement for Carlos Vinicius, who recently returned to Benfica after Tottenham opted against making his loan permanent.
A fee of £20-25m is touted in the report from the Mirror.
Gareth Bale to retire from club football in 2022
Gareth Bale would spend the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Tottenham.
The Welshman, after a slow start, found form at the end of last season and played a key role in Spurs securing 7th place in the Premier League.
As a result, the Tottenham faithful were no doubt hoping to see Bale return on a permanent basis next season.
However, Bale signing for Spurs again in the future does now look to be unlikely.
This comes with the Mirror reporting that Bale intends to see out the final 12 months of his deal at Real now Carlo Ancelotti has replaced Zinedine Zidane, and has told friends and advisers he is not currently planning to get another club next summer when he will be a free agent.
Though he plans to retire from club football after this upcoming season, it is claimed he could still play for Wales at the 2022 World Cup.
