Neymar has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave during this summer transfer window in a stunning revelation.
According to Sky Sport’s Bryan Swanson, the Brazilian superstar has asked to leave the club after talks with sporting director Leonardo.
The report also claims PSG tried to convince him to change his mind, but the player remains hellbent on securing a transfer away from the French capital.
Last week, Leonardo confirmed that Neymar can leave the club if the right deal is offered.
“It’s clear to everyone [he wants to leave]. But in football, you say one thing today and tomorrow another … It’s amazing but it’s like that,” he said.
“The position is clear for all. But one thing is concrete today: he still has three years of contract with us. And since we have not received an offer, we cannot discuss anything.
“We have not received any offers. But we had, it’s true, very superficial contacts [from Barcelona]. They said they wanted to buy but we were not sellers.
“Neymar can leave PSG if there is an offer that suits everyone. But to date, we do not know if anyone wants to buy it or at what price.”
Neymar continues to be linked with a sensational return to Barcelona.
The Catalan giants reportedly offered a three-player swap deal in exchange for the 27-year-old. However, PSG want money as part of the deal.
